Dr. Chamoun has been actively involved in academia, serving as an adjunct business professor and visiting scholar at TAMUK College of Business in Kingsville, Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France, and the Washington University Sever Institute. In recognition of his outstanding work, he became a member of the Ateneo of Cadiz, Spain, in 2013, and was appointed an honorary member of the Honourable Consular Corps of Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 2014.
His dedication to education and innovation has earned him several prestigious awards. In 2021, the University of St. Thomas recognized him for his exceptional role in transitioning in-person teaching to an online format while effectively engaging students. He was also honored by students at the Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas as the best and most impactful professor. In 2022, Dr. Chamoun received a nomination for the Saint Thomas Aquinas Excellence in Teaching Award from his UST students, highlighting his commitment to education. Most recently, in November 2022, he was awarded the Professor of the Month recognition at Texas A&M Kingsville University for his remarkable academic achievements.
